Hey There.

Well, hello.  Long time no see.

I didn't really mean to take a 5+ month blogging break, but you know, life happens.  I needed more time than I expected to settle into my new job, and I needed more time than I expected to WANT to blog again.

But anyway, here I am, ready to post again.  My life is lot different now than it was 6 months ago, so the blog will be different too.  I'm not going to post on a regular schedule, and the focus is going to be more on (hopefully not-totally-boring) work/office wear since that's what I spend most of my time in these days.  (Much of the rest of my time is spent in sweaty spandex, which you can read about here.)  Mixed in with outfit posts will likely be shorter "look-at-this-pretty-person-in-pretty-clothes" type posts since I do a lot of pinning and I like to share beautiful things.  And in addition to all of that, there will probably be more life/weekend recap posts, especially since we'll be doing a lot of traveling and exploring this summer.

Speaking of which, J and I were in Asheville this weekend with my best friend D and her sweet man.  We did a lot of hiking to places with views like this...

We also ate and drank a lot.  We did an unofficial local brewery tour - our favorite by far was Pisgah Brewing Co.  Their Chocolate Stout is ridiculously delicious (top pic, upper right).  I also really liked Catawba Valley's White Zombie Ale (bottom pic) - so much so that I brought a six pack home with me.  It has a bit of coriander in it that is pretty amazing.

Unfortunately, this was the only shot of any of the ridiculous amounts of food we consumed - everything was crazy good.  It was pretty much devoured as quickly as it hit the table.  This pizza is from an old favorite haunt - My Father's Pizza in Black Mountain.  My biggest regret is that I didn't get any snaps of our meal at Tupelo Honey Cafe.  Tupelo Honey is probably my favorite restaurant of all time, and I can't really describe to you how life changing their shrimp and grits are - you'll just have to go to Asheville and try them for yourself.

When you're sufficiently fueled and well hydrated, let it marinate while you sit on the back porch of your cabin and watch the lightning bugs light up the yard.  Magical.

Anyway, I hope y'all will like this change of direction, although I don't think it will be radically different from what this space was before.  And if you're still reading, thanks!

Wu Me.

I love the Target designer collaborations.  The latest one is with Jason Wu (you know him because he designed Michelle's inauguration ball gown), and it hits stores on February 5th.  Two previews of the collection popped up online today, and they're pretty darn cute.

What do y'all think?  Are you gonna give Target another chance after the Missoni debacle?
