Diggin' Trenches.

If you asked me to make a list of the top ten staples every girl should own, a classic trench would definitely be on that list.  You can find brightly colored ones, animal print, plaid, etc., but I think the best investment is the original khaki version, which you can find in every price range from $30 to $3,000 (hello, Burberry).  Personally, because I think this is such a key piece that you can wear for years to come, I would spend a little bit more - somewhere in $100-$250 range.  Check out my suggestions below:

{DKNY via Bloomingdales - $166.40}

{Kenneth Cole - $229.00}

{Mango via Asos - $145.13}

{Ellen Tracy via Nordstrom - $179.90}

{Michael Kors - $199.50}

Scarves and Stripes.

I have previously written about the glories of the classic striped shirt.  One look I will definitely be trying this spring is pairing it with a scarf and lightweight jacket.  I think it's such a relaxed, comfortable look and the layers are perfect the schizophrenic weather we've been experiencing here in NC.  Check out these street styles that are my inspiration:

Spring Essentials - Part 3.

I am dying for this little lace-trimmed top.  I really can't pull off the whole vintage thing but I love that vintage-y touches are in this spring because I feel like I can do it in smaller doses.  So, here's how I would wear it.

Once again, all about "recycling" some pieces from earlier sets.  I also think you could easily wear the gold sandals from Monday's set or the Jessica Simpson heels from Tuesday with this outfit.

Spring Essentials - Part 2.

There are some patterns and fabrics that you can wear from season to season.  In my book, though, pastel florals are not in that category.  So, I intend to wear mine as often as possible this spring while they are in season.

How cute would this outfit be for Easter brunch?

*Yes, those are the same Kate Spade studs from yesterday.  I don't have an unlimited budget or wardrobe so I used them again, just like I would in real life.

Spring Essentials - Part 1.

Sorry for the delay on posting today.

Anyway, this week I decided to focus on the 5 pieces that I will be buying to anchor my spring wardrobe.  First up, a chambray shirt: a preppy classic that is the only part of the denim trend I can get behind.  Here is my first attempt at an outfit board:
